‘Show and Tell’ is important to most children.  It provides your child with an opportunity to share with classmates an object special to him/her.  In addition to feeling excited, proud, etc. about his/her item, many reading and language arts objectives are addressed.

Speaking in front of an audience with the appropriate volume and posture is not easy.  Please practice at home.  Practicing should be part of your child’s homework during days before his/her ‘show and tell’ day.  It only takes a couple minutes!

Show and Tell Indicators

  1. Shares ideas in oral presentations
  2. Pays attention when others are speaking
  3. Listens and views to gain knowledge in a variety of situations
  4. Understands message given
  5. Increases vocabulary
  6. Answers questions about the ‘show and tell’ item
